Photographie trouvée
2015
I found an image, then removed its center by tearing it so that the opposite sides of the found photograph could be directly associated and assembled (thus creating a new narrative). With this gesture, I changed the meaning of the original image. Like the hands of the editor who cuts and assembles, I cut the image at its center so that the woman facing away could gaze at the pictures hanging on the wall. This new image carries within it the gap that structures it; it is formed by the absence that recalls the constitutive cut of any montage, perhaps even of any gaze.
